This fragment belongs to a commentary on an astrological text dealing with moon omens, although the exact base text remains unidentifiable. It was found in Ashurbanipal’s libraries in Nineveh.
The most remarkable line of the fragment features a “chained” explanation: a.rá is explained as milku, “advice,” milku as šu, and šu as ṭēmu, “order.” The fragment also seems to contain one notarikon exegetical operation: in l. 6’ the term uddazallû (“appointed date”) seems to be explained by dividing it into two parts, udda and zal. The same line also features a triple colon, perhaps with the function of separating the quotation from the base text from the explanation.
Little else can be said of this piece, at least until more fragments of the same commentary are identified.
