Introduction

Little can be said of this tiny fragment. It was classified as a “commentary?” in Lambert’s catalog of the high numbers in the Kuyunjik collection,1 and indeed one of the entries (l. 8, edēdu = ṣapāru ša qarni, “To be pointed” means “to be ador]ned, said of horns”) is well attested in astrological reports. This suggests that the fragment may belong to an astrological commentary dealing with moon eclipses, but this is far from certain.
